
Let’s Talk About Bathroom Infrared Heaters
When we’re building infrared lamps for the bathroom, the biggest headache isn’t actually the heat. It’s the light. You know that blinding, harsh glare from some heaters? It’s a nightmare. It stresses your eyes out, and if you’ve got a baby in the house, it’s even worse since their eyes are still developing. We don’t want that. So, we focus on tweaking the light spectrum to make it way more comfortable. Keeping it easy on the eyes We use special coatings on the quartz glass to block out the UV and those sharp, visible light frequencies. Instead, we push the energy into the medium or long-wave infrared range. The result? You get that deep, cozy warmth on your skin, but without the “staring into the sun” feeling. We call it a “soft light” effect. It happens because of some clever additives in the glass and reflectors that push the heat down where you want it, while softening the brightness. The technical side of things These units run on your normal home power, but we pack a lot of wattage into a small space so they heat up fast. We use high-purity quartz tubes because they can handle the heat without warping. One quick tip: check your ceiling fixtures. Make sure they’re rated for the lamp’s wattage. If you go too powerful without enough airflow, you might scorch your ceiling or find your safety switches tripping constantly. Not a great look. Getting the install right Placement is everything here. If you mount the lamp too close to the ceiling, you create a heat trap that can actually ruin the housing. But if you put it too far away, you won’t actually feel the warmth. It’s a bit of a balancing act. We usually suggest a minimum clearance based on the wattage to keep things from overheating. And just a heads-up: even though the light is soft and safe for your eyes, the quartz tube itself getsinsanely hot. You absolutely need a proper guard to make sure nobody gets burned.
